A few of these sites are very clever and contain useful information. Others are
just plain fun!
www.noquartergiven.net
No Quarter Given is a great web site! It has hundreds of links to all things
pirate from books and movies to events, crews, and pirate related materials for
sale. My only complaint is that the site is rarely updated and does have a
number of dead links. They also publish a news letter!
www.pirateinfo.com
Pirate info has a great bulletin board and lots of pages dedicated to the
history of piracy. This site is also very child friendly and can be useful in
researching term papers.
www.greatgridlock.net
If you want to get a brief but very detailed history on the age of sail this web
site is for you. Wonderful illustrations and great explanations!
www.bonaventure.org.uk
A fantastic web site by British living history maritime re-enactment group!
These guys feature my favorite time period from 1560 to 1660. The site also
features some nifty photos and links.
www.kipar.org
The Salacious Historian/ L'Age D' Or: One of my favorite web sites. Great
history, great ideas, great photos, great illustrations, great maps. A Baroque
Living History site.
www.pyracy.com
The infamous Pirates Pub! Tons of folks log in to this site everyday and you can
discover just about anything related to piracy by people passionate about
pirates. Old Jib is often posting some piece of drivel. Great for research,
finding rare items, and meeting friends.
www.bloodwakepirates.com
The crew of the Bloodwake are allies of ours at the Minnesota Renaissance
Festival. They can always be counted on for good cheer and a nibble of fine
food. Take a look at their web site and you can meet Captain Scurvy Bill, Jenny
Needles, Mr. Marcy, Whiskey Liz, Splinter Mick, Charts, Kegs, Cannon Jack
Darling, Koz the Mad Irishman, and all the rest of the crew! If you want to meet
them in person stop by Mac's Pub at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival and tell
them Jib sent you!
